R. Amir Gant 

Coaching 

Entering his first season as a Coach for the Fort Scott Greyhounds, Gant’s experience includes high school; primarily based out of Tennessee and at the collegiate level. Prior to coming to Fort Scott, Gant coached at the high school level as an assistant coach at Lausanne Collegiate School, Memphis, TN under Head Coach Kevin Locastro. Excited to be a part of the Jayhawk conference under Coach Hunter, he shares a passion for recruiting, mentoring and developing young men to be successful at the next level and beyond the field.

High School 

Gant coached and developed top high school talent in the Memphis Metropolitan Area. He also worked with top high school coaches in the area; some now coach in the college ranks, such as Anthony Jones: University of Memphis, Carlos Locklyn: Florida State University, Dominique Bowman: Austin Peay University.

In 2019, Gant served as the Fairley High School Offensive Coordinator. Under Head Coach Gene Robinson III and Gant’s tutelage Fairley turned into one of the top offenses in Class 2AA: averaging 38.7 ppg; finishing in the top 10 in TSSAA, with one of the top rushing offenses in the state averaging 230.8 ypg; along with a two time Mr. Football finalist with 162.6 ypg average and finished with back to back undefeated district titles.

Gant also started a 15U underclassmen prep training program in Memphis with J3M Tennessee Selection Organization 7-on-7 Team. One of the top high school prep organizations in the country, the provide training, tutoring and recruiting with over 100 student athletes currently enrolled at a university. 

Notable Accomplishments

• In first year as Offensive Coordinator at Fairley HS the team finished top 10 in TSSAA classification 2A
• Served 6 years as a high school coach throughout West Tennessee
• Maintained an overall winning record
• Graduated every player he coached
• Helped develop more than 30 college football players during his time as a high school coach

Personal 

Mid-south native born in Memphis, TN. A notable athlete lettering in three sports at Desoto Central High School in MS just outside of Memphis. After playing football in college he began volunteering as a coach with local high schools.
