On February 5, 2026, Luis Pulido was named the first-ever Head Men's Soccer Coach for Fort Scott Community College. He steps into this pioneering role to launch a brand-new men's soccer program for the Greyhounds, which will compete in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) and the NJCAA this fall.
Pulido brings a proven track record of success, program-building, and player development to FSCC. Most recently, he served as Head Men's Soccer Coach at Central Community College - Columbus in Nebraska from 2021 to 2025. There, he established himself as the winningest coach in Raiders history, leading the program to unprecedented heights. Over his five seasons, Pulido earned NJCAA Region 9 Coach of the Year honors three times and guided the Raiders to three Region 9 championships (2021, 2022, 2024). In the 2025 season—their first as a member of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC)—the Raiders finished with a 12-5-3 record, including a dominant run of 5-1-1 versus ranked opponents in their last 7 games, culminating in a top-10 national ranking.
Pulido developed elite talent at Central, placing 21 players on the All-Region First Team, 3 on the Second Team, and 2 on the Third Team, while producing three NJCAA All-Americans: Ivan Lopez (2022), Jaime Zani (2024), and Leo Morley-Robertson (2025)—the only All-Americans in program history. His student-athletes also thrived academically, earning 27 First-Team, 23 Second-Team, and 8 Third-Team NJCAA Academic All-American honors, while setting a program-record team semester GPA of 3.77.
Before Central, Pulido was Head Men's Soccer Coach at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D., where in his first season he led the Tigers to postseason play for the first time in six years and placed a player on the All-Great Plains Athletic Conference First Team for the first time in a decade.
Prior to his collegiate coaching career, he coached the girls' soccer team at Columbus High School for four seasons, amassing 43 wins while securing two district championships and a Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference title.
In 2018-19, Pulido was selected for the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 program, the first (and only) Nebraskan honored, for his positive impact on the sport through mentorship and development.
Pulido founded Mind’s Eye Soccer Academy in 2017. The academy delivered affordable coaching, partnered with nonprofits to serve underserved communities, and collaborated with national clubs and international football associations on a curriculum for players ages 4 to adult. He has extensive youth coaching experience, including multiple league and state cup championships, a regional club-level title, service as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) coach for the Dakotas (2019-2021), and service as Executive Director for Fremont Soccer Club (2022-23).
A native of Fremont, Neb., Pulido holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from York University and a Master's degree in Educational Policy and Administration from Dakota Wesleyan University. He possesses a United States Soccer Federation 'C' License and is currently a 'B' License candidate, along with Goalkeeping Level 1 Certification, a Director of Coaching Diploma, and a Premier Diploma from United Soccer Coaches. In 2021, he completed a year-long mentorship with Raymond Verheijen through Football Coach Evolution, earning points toward a UEFA License from the Dutch FA.
Pulido currently serves as a regional scout for 1. FC Köln's International Talent Program in Germany, identifying and evaluating promising international talent for one of Europe's premier Bundesliga clubs' world teams.
Pulido resides in Fort Scott with his wife, three children, and two dogs.
