Hounds shut out Dragons in Game 1

The Hounds Hosted the Dragons of Hutchinson for the first round of the playoffs. The Fort Scott Greyhounds defeated Hutchinson 11-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

 

The Greyhounds got things started in the first inning when Brody Szako hit a solo homer. Fort Scott Greyhounds scored four runs in the third inning.  Blake Wilson, Noah Wilkinson, and Joey Little each had RBIs in the frame.

 

Jett Feltman led the Hound's to victory on the mound. Feltman surrendered zero runs on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out five.  Peyton Medeiros threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

 

Smith took the loss for Hutchinson. The hurler allowed four hits and five runs over two innings, striking out two.

 

The Hound's launched six home runs on the day. Szako went for the long ball in the first and sixth innings which puts him at 27 home runs on the year. Carson Carpenter went yard in the fourth inning. Evann Long put one out in the first inning. Ayden Slott had a homer in the seventh inning. Wilkinson had a long ball in the second inning.

 

The Greyhounds saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game.  Wilkinson, Szako, and Wilson each collected multiple hits for Fort Scott.  Wilkinson led Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

 

The Hound's will take on the Dragon's again tomorrow, first pitch is at 3:00.
