Game 1
The Greyhounds beat Neosho County Community College 13-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Gavin Brummund was the winning pitcher for Fort Scott. The ace lasted four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out two. Foley threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Noah Wilkinson led the Hounds to victory by driving in five runs. Wilkinson went 3-for-4 at the plate. Wilkinson drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a grand slam in the sixth.
The Greyhounds got on the board in the first inning when Evann Long's sac fly scored one run for the Hounds. Fort Scott notched five runs in the fifth inning. Jaret Nelson, Joe Ricchio, and Ayden Slott powered the big inning with RBIs. A single by Brady in the second inning was a positive for Neosho County Community College. Sharp took the loss for Neosho County Community College. The bulldog went four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits and striking out two.
Fort Scott hit five home runs on the day. Brody Szako went deep in the fourth inning. Nelson went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Slott went yard in the fifth inning. Wilkinson had a long ball in the fourth and sixth innings. The Hounds collected 12 hits. Wilkinson, Szako, Slott, and Carson Carpenter all managed multiple hits for Fort Scott. Wilkinson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead FSCC in hits.
Game 2
Fort Scott easily dispatched Neosho County Community College 7-1 on Saturday.
Eric Tapia was credited with the victory for the Hounds. The pitcher went four innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out six. Peyton Medeiros and Easten Smith entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Smith recorded the last four outs to earn the save for the Greyhounds.
Beckmann took the loss for Neosho County Community College. Beckmann went five innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking zero. Fort Scott hit three home runs on the day. Carson Carpenter had a homer in the sixth and eighth innings. Joey Little went deep in the third inning. Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity totaled 13 hits in the game. Carpenter, Blake Wilson, Maka Shigematsu, and Noah Wilkinson each racked up multiple hits for Fort Scott. Carpenter went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Hounds.
The Hounds are now sitting in 3rd place on the East Side of the conference. The Hounds sit at 34-18 overall and 18-10 in conference.
