Hounds Take Two From Neosho

Game 1

Fort Scott defeated Neosho County Community College 4-3 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game.  The game was tied at one with the Greyhounds batting in the top of the sixth when Pacha induced Blake Wilson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Neosho County Community College opened up scoring in the first inning, when Snodgrass hit a solo homer. In the top of the fifth inning, Fort Scott tied things up at one.  Brody Szako doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Peyton Medeiros was the winning pitcher for Fort Scott. Medeiros went one and one-third innings, allowing two runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking zero.  Easten Smith threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Smith recorded the last four outs to earn the save for the Hounds. Pacha took the loss for Neosho County Community College. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out ten. Alex Johnson started the game for the Hounds. The fireballer allowed two hits and one run over four and a third innings, striking out four.

Fort Scott collected eight hits on the day.  Evann Long and Jaret Nelson all managed multiple hits for the Greyhounds.  Nelson and Long each collected two hits to lead Fort Scott.

Game 2

Four hits from Ayden Slott helped lead Fort Scott past Neosho County Community College 11-1 on Friday.  Slott homered in the second, singled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the seventh.

The Hounds got things moving in the second inning.  Fort Scott scored two runs when Blake Wilson homered. Jett Feltman took the win for Fort Scott. The ace lasted three innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out six and walking one.  Zach Nelson threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Nelson recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for the Hounds.

Faber took the loss for Neosho County Community College. The hurler surrendered seven runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out one. Fort Scott tallied five home runs on the day. Carson Carpenter had a homer in the seventh inning. Wilson had a long ball in the second and seventh innings. Slott went for the long ball in the second inning. Noah Wilkinson put one out in the seventh inning. Fort Scott racked up 14 hits in the game.  Slott, Carpenter, Wilkinson, and Wilson each managed multiple hits for Fort Scott.  Slott led for Hounds with four hits in four at bats.  The Hounds was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Wilkinson had the most chances in the field with ten.

The Hounds were not 32-18 overall and will take on Neosho County CC on Saturday in a double header .
