Hounds Make it a Clean Sweep Over Highland CC

Game 1

Fort Scott and Highland Community College traded blows on Saturday in a back-and-forth affair, with Fort Scott eventually claiming a 15-10 victory.  The game was tied at ten with Greyhounds batting in the top of the eighth when Joey Little homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Little led the Hounds to victory by driving in five runs.  Little went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Little drove in runs on a walk in the second, a single in the third, a single in the seventh, and a home run in the eighth.Fort Scott knotted the game up at ten in the top of the seventh inning, when Ayden Slott was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

Highland Community College scored five runs in the fourth inning.  Knowlton, Fierro, and Goings all drove in runs in the frame. Easten Smith was credited with the victory for The Hounds. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on one hit over two innings, striking out three and walking one.  Peyton Medeiros threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Fort Scott hit three home runs on the day. Evann Long had a homer in the eighth inning. Joe Ricchio had a long ball in the eighth inning. Little went deep in the eighth inning.

Game 2

The Greyhounds had everything working on Friday, winning big over Highland Community College 11-1. Fort Scott got on the board in the first inning when Jaret Nelson hit a solo homer. The Hounds scored five runs in the third inning.  The offensive firepower by Fort Scott was led by Evann Long, Blake Wilson, and Joe Ricchio, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Jett Feltman took the win for Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity. Feltman went four innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven and walking one.  Wyatt Foley threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

FSCC hit four home runs on the day. Wilson went yard in the third inning. Long put one out in the third inning. Ricchio had a four bagger in the third inning. Nelson went deep in the first inning.

Game 3

Gavin Brummund didn't allow a single run against Highland Community College, throwing a complete game shutout and leading The Hounds to a 10-0 victory on Friday. Fort Scott secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning.  Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity's big inning was driven by singles by Maka Shigematsu, Brody Szako, Jaret Nelson, and Carson Carpenter and a walk by Evann Long.

Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity got things started in the first inning.  Joey Little hit a solo homer. Brummund took the win for FSCC. The hurler went five innings, allowing zero runs on six hits, striking out 11 and walking zero. The Greyhounds smacked two home runs on the day. Szako had a long ball in the third inning. Little went for the long ball in the first inning.

Game 4

Brody Szako was in the zone on Saturday, tallying five hits and leading Fort Scott to a 16-4 win over Highland Community College.  Szako singled in the first, homered in the second, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth. The Hounds grabbed an early lead.  Fort Scott scored on a double by Jaret Nelson in the first inning, a single by Carson Carpenter in the first inning, a home run by Noah Wilkinson in the first inning, a home run by Szako in the second inning, and a double by Nelson in the second inning.

Eric Tapia earned the win for Fort Scott. The fireballer surrendered four runs on four hits over five innings, striking out four.  Wyatt Foley, Jon Stanley, and Zach Nelson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Fort Scott socked six home runs on the day. Szako had a dinger in the second inning. Carpenter had a homer in the fifth inning. Blake Wilson went yard in the fourth inning. Ayden Slott had a homer in the sixth inning. Wilkinson had a dinger in the first and third innings.

The Hounds are now 30-18 overall and 14-10 In conference play.
