Game 1 Recap

Evann Long was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in four on three hits to lead Fort Scott past Kansas City Kansas Community College 10-5 on Thursday.  Long drove in runs on a home run in the second, a double in the fourth, and a home run in the sixth. An early lead helped propel Fort Scott to victory.  The Hounds scored on a home run by Long and a home run by Carson Carpenter in the second inning. Fort Scott pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.  In the second Long hit a solo homer and Carpenter hit a solo homer. FSCC scored three runs in the fourth inning.  Ayden Slott and Long each drove in runs during the inning.

Alex Johnson was credited with the victory for Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity. The ace lasted four innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out three.  Jett Feltman threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.Carlgren took the loss for Kansas City Kansas Community College. Carlgren surrendered six runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.

Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity socked six home runs on the day. Carpenter put one out in the second inning. Blake Wilson went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Long went deep in the second and sixth innings. Slott had a dinger in the fourth and fifth innings.

Game 2 Recap

Both Kansas City Kansas Community College and Fort Scott had their offenses going on Thursday, but Fort Scott eventually succumbed 11-8 in the high-scoring affair. Kansas City Kansas Community College got on the board in the first inning.   Mervosh's sac fly scored one run for Kansas City Kansas Community College. The Hounds evened things up at one in the bottom of the second inning.  Ayden Slott grounded out, scoring one run.

Kansas City Kansas Community College pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third Candelas homered on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs. Fort Scott notched six runs in the ninth inning.  FSCC's big inning was driven by singles by Joe Ricchio, Landon Winingham, and Slott and a home run by Joey Little.

Kansas City Kansas Community College scored five runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Kansas City Kansas Community College was led by Elliot, Buck, Candelas, and Buffington, who all drove in runs.

Wyatt Foley took the loss for Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity. Foley went four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking zero.

Game 3 Recap

Nothing came easy for Fort Scott on Saturday, as they fell 15-3 to Kansas City Kansas Community College. Fort Scott tallied three runs in the fourth inning. The Hounds scored its runs on an RBI home run by Brody Szako. Kansas City Kansas Community College scored eight runs in the third inning.  Kansas City Kansas Community College big bats were led by Ammenn, Allen, Buffington, Woita, Mervosh, and Goldbeck, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Gavin Brummund took the loss for Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and six runs. Szako went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity in hits.

Game 4 Recap

Fort Scott Community College's effort to come back from down four runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 4-3 to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday.  Fort Scott scored three runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Jaret Nelson in the sixth, a fielder's choice by Brody Szako in the seventh, and a single by Nelson in the seventh. Fort Scott couldn't keep up with Kansas City Kansas Community College early in the game.  Kansas City Kansas Community College scored on a single by Woita in the first inning and a single by Allen in the second inning.

In the first inning, Kansas City Kansas Community College got their offense started.  Woita singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Finley earned the win for Kansas City Kansas Community College. The hurler allowed six hits and two runs over six innings, striking out seven.  Eric Tapia took the loss for Fort Scott. The bulldog surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out three.

Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity launched one home run on the day. Nelson went yard in the sixth inning. The Hounds are now 8-8 in conference play and 23-16 overall. The Hounds will head to Allen County CC on Thursday for a 2 game set.
