Game 3 Recap

The Fort Scott Greyhounds took home a 6-1 victory over Coffeyville Community College on Saturday.

Coffeyville Community College got on the board in the first inning when Bell hit a solo homer. FSCC pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning.  In the third Brody Szako's sac fly scored one run for Fort Scott, Jaret Nelson homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Noah Wilkinson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Joe Ricchio doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Gavin Brummund earned the win for The Hounds. The fireballer went six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out five.  Jett Feltman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. FSCC launched two home runs on the day. Szako had a homer in the sixth inning. Nelson put one out in the third inning. The Hounds collected ten hits.  Carson Carpenter and Evann Long each racked up multiple hits for Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity.  Carpenter went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity in hits.  Bell led Coffeyville Community College with two hits in three at bats. 

Game 4 Recap

The Fort Scott Greyhounds stole the lead late in the game in a 7-4 victory over Coffeyville Community College on Saturday.  The game was tied at three with Fort Scott batting in the bottom of the eighth when Jaret Nelson hit a grand slam on a 1-1 count, scoring four runs. FSCC earned the victory despite allowing Coffeyville Community College to score three runs in the third inning.  The offensive firepower by Coffeyville Community College was led by Holton and Moody, all knocking in runs in the inning.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Fort Scott tied things up at three.  Brody Szako's sac fly scored one run. Zach Nelson took the win for the Hounds. Nelson went one inning, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out two and walking zero.  Szako threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Szako recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Fort Scott. Pena took the loss for Coffeyville Community College. The pitcher lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out three and walking one.

Holton started the game for Coffeyville Community College. The hurler allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two Eric Tapia started the game for Fort Scott. The pitcher surrendered three runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. The Hounds socked two home runs on the day. Nick Jones went for the long ball in the fifth inning. Nelson put one out in the eighth inning.

Fort Scott scattered nine hits in the game.  Carson Carpenter and Ayden Slott all collected multiple hits for FSCC.  Carpenter led Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

The Hounds will be back in action at Home on Thursday the 6th when they will take on the Kansas City Community College, first pitch starting at 1:00.
