Game 1 Recap
Ayden Slott showed timely hitting on Monday, driving in five on three hits to lead Fort Scott past Baker University 11-1 on Monday. Slott drove in runs on a home run in the second, a home run in the fourth, and a double in the sixth.
Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity got things started in the first inning. Joe Ricchio drew a walk, scoring one run.
Fort Scott Greyhounds scored five runs in the fourth inning. Carson Carpenter, Jaret Nelson, and Slott all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Gavin Brummund earned the win for Fort Scott. The fireballer allowed three hits and one run over four innings, walking one. Jett Feltman threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Alvarez started the game for Baker University. The pitcher went two innings, allowing four runs on five hits.
Fort Scott launched two home runs on the day. Slott had a long ball in the second and fourth innings.
The Greyhounds racked up 11 hits on the day. Slott, Jessie Moreno, and Joey Little each racked up multiple hits for Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity. Slott went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Fort Scott in hits.
Recap Game 2
Both teams were strong on the hill Monday, but The Greyhounds defeated Baker University 3-1. Fort Scott Greyhounds pitchers allowed just three hits to Baker University.
Fort Scott got things moving in the second inning, when Jaret Nelson hit a solo homer.
Eric Tapia earned the victory on the mound for Fort Scott. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three. Carter Phillips and Peyton Medeiros entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Medeiros recorded the last out to earn the save for the Hounds.
Miller was on the hill for Baker University. The pitcher surrendered three runs on five hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.
Khol Cooper started the game for Fort Scott. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero
Fort Scott Greyhounds Varsity socked two home runs on the day. Brody Szako hit a tank in the seventh inning. Nelson went deep in the second inning.
The Hounds are back in action starting Saturday against Southwestern CC, first pitch at 1.
