Means Makes Orioles Top 30 Prospects

Former Greyhound left-handed pitcher John Means has made it into the Baltimore Orioles top 30 prospects. As a Greyhound Means went 6-0 with a .88 ERA. These statistics were good enough for Means to earn a second team all Region 6 spot, in addition to his first team all conference honor.

"He was rock in the number one spot of our rotation in 2012; I always gave him the ball and didn't expect to get it back. He didn't have the best fall, or start to the spring, but once he got his chance, he never looked back," Head Coach John Hill III said.

After his freshman year at FSCC, Means went on to pitch at West Virginia University where he went 10-6 with a 3.24 ERA over the 2013 and 2014 seasons. From there he was drafted in the 11th round by the Baltimore Orioles and has continued his success. He has made the jump to the high A ball level with the Frederick Keys. This season he has gone 9-11 with a 3.91 ERA. Major League Baseball's website lists John as a possible starting rotation guy in the future. He currently holds the 29th spot on the Orioles top 30 list.

Greyhound Baseball is proud to congratulate John Means on his continued success, and we look forward to seeing him do big things in the future.
