Hounds Make Clean Sweep of North Ark and Shorter College

Women's Basketball goes 2-0 to begin the week. The Hounds made a clean sweep of the North Arkansas Pioneers and the Shorter College Bulldogs.

FSCC started with a close back and forth game against North Arkansas. The game was fast paced and the Hounds and Pioneers kept trading shots.

The Hounds went up fast by six to begin the first quarter but the Pioneers crawled their way back. At the end of the First the Hounds were up by three, leading 17-14.

The Hounds played lock down defense in the second quarter outscoring North Ark 19-12. The Hounds led at halftime 36-26. The Hounds traded blows back and forth throughout the game but secured the victory with a 62-58 win against the #20 ranked team in junior college.

The stars of the game were: Jayla Bibbs with another double- double with 12 points 15 rebounds, Jada Williams with 10 points and 3 assists and Ja'teija Brown and Taylor Brokenberry with 12 apiece.

The Lady Hounds then took on Shorter College to seek some revenge after a five-point loss in North Little Rock Arkansas.

The Hounds came out firing on all cylinders, they came out with a 19-9 lead after the first quarter. The Hounds kept their foot on the gas going up 30-25 at Halftime.

FSCC stayed locked in after the break putting up 28 points in the third quarter. The Bulldogs came back with a fight in the fourth putting up 17 points but the Hounds secured the lead with clutch free throws by Kiarra Guzman. The Hounds finished shooting 40% from the field while shooting 74% from the line. FSCC won the comeback attempt with the score of 69-61.

The Lady Hounds were led by Jayla Bibbs with another double-double, scoring 20 points with 14 rebounds. The hounds also had contributions from Jateija Brown with 11 points 8 boards, and Kierra Guzman with 13 points and 9 rebounds. The Hounds are now 8-4 on the season and undefeated at Arnold Arena.

The Hounds will be back in action this Friday night in Nebraska where they take on Southeast Community College at 6:00.
