Women's Basketball goes 2-0 on the weekend at the Johnson County Classis the Hounds started the weekend with a 57-41 win over Iowa Lakes Community College. The Hounds came out with an impressive start to the game. The hounds went up by eight early and never looked back. The Hounds played a great game overall on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
The Stars of the game were Jada Williams with 18 points, 3 Rebounds and 2 assists. Kennedy Moss Chipped in with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Jayla Bibbs contributed with 9 points and pulling down 16 rebounds.
The lady Hounds then played a Southwestern Community College. The Jinx came out strong in the first quarter going up 23-14 while shooting 42% from the field. The Hounds then came back in quarter 2 outscoring the Jinx 20-18. Half time the Jinx of Southwestern were up 41-34.
The Hounds then took over the game and shot 47% in quarter three and 50% from the field in 4th quarter. The Hounds shot an astonishing 60% from three-point range in the 4th. The Hounds held on to the back-and-forth game winning by four. The final score was 81-77.
The Hounds were led by Jayla Bibbs with and impressive double double with 27 points and 20 rebounds along with 7 assists and 4 steals. The bench helped win the game for the Hounds with big contributions from LuLu Lordes with 12 points and Mykiland French with 11 points.
The Hounds are now 4-1 on the young season and are back in action tonight at Shorter College at 5:00.
