Women's Basketball goes 2-0 on the weekend at the Gladbach Classic. The Hounds started the weekend with a 72-52 win over Haskell JV. The Hounds came out with an impressive start to the game. The hounds went up by eight early and never looked back. The Hounds played a great game overall on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
We would like to congratulate Head Coach Kaylena Andersen on her first win at the collegiate ranks.
The stars of the game were Jayla Bibbs who had a double double with 17 points, 20 rebounds and 8 assists. Kintaeja Ling and Ja'teija Brown each chipped in with 11 points.
The Lady Hounds then hosted Cottey College JV which turned out to be a back-and-forth game. The Hounds came out strong with an 8-2 run. They Comets then chipped away and brought the score back to even with the Hounds making a run of their own going up by 12. Kintaeja Ling had timely threes going down the stretch. The Hounds held off the comeback with timely defense and steals holding the Comets off 66-54.
The Hounds were led by Kintaeja Ling with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Taylor Brokenberry chiped in with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Kennedy Moss filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 block.
The Lady Hounds are now 2-0 on the year. This is the first year since 2017 the Hounds have started 2-0.
The Lady Hounds are back in action on November 7 @5:30 at North Arkansas CC.
