Fort Scott Falls to #7 Nationally Ranked Highland

Fort Scott matched up against the Highland Scotties in Arnold Arena on Wednesday, January 14th.  The Greyhounds started off strong defensively and with just six and a half minutes left in the first half, found themselves tied with the 7th ranked team in NJCAA Division II rankings.  The Hounds allowed Highland to finish the first half on a scoring run to go ahead 39-28 at the half.  The Scotties came out in the second half and hit four three point field goals to extend their lead and even after the Hounds went on a run to try to fight back in the game; it wasn't enough as Highland was able to pull away with the win, 74-53.  Fort Scott was led by Jessica McAdams with 16 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Sierra Shoulders with 14 points.  Amanda Cicero came off the bench and led the team with 6 assists for the night.

Coach Reihmann commented, "I thought we fought very hard tonight, the entire game.  We played very well in the first half defensively but had too long of a stretch where we didn't score and that really hurt us, especially against a team like Highland.  Overall though, a total team effort tonight and I'm proud of how well we played, especially on the defensive end."
