Softball Wins KJCCC Championship
FORT SCOTT, Kan. (May 13, 2024)—
The Fort Scott Community College Softball program wins the first KJCCC Championship in school history. The Lady Hounds went 4-0 during the course of the KJCCC Tournament after defeating KCKCC in the first round 3-2. In the second round, FSCC defeated the #1 seed Johnson County, 9-6 then Neosho in the semi-finals 9-6. The championship battle led back to JCCC, the Lady Hounds got up 5-1 and didn't look back after a 11-9 victory. FSCC has currently won 39 games which is the most in school history and 16 victories during KJCCC play. In the final 18 games of the season, they are 15-3 leading the NJCAA National Tournament, a prestigious event that showcases the top college softball teams in the nation.
The Lady Hounds, with their impressive performance, have earned the right to wait in anticipation for the field to be determined during the selection show tomorrow at 11:00 AM. The excitement is palpable as a selection show will be held in the student union on the campus of Fort Scott Community College, where the community can come together to support our team.
