The Lady Hounds are halfway through a tough Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and Region 6 schedule. Dropping the last 6 games vs. Independence, Cowley County and Allen County, FSCC is set to take on their first conference road series this weekend at Brown Mackie and Cloud County on Friday and Saturday.
Through the last six games, the Lady Hounds offense has been a bright spot, averaging 4 runs a game. Alex Perez, Taylor Brecheisen and Cheyenne Brewer have led FSCC's offense over the last week and a half, each carrying .350 averages or better in 15+ at bats. On the season, four FSCC hitters are batting over .400, while 15 Lady Hounds are hitting .300 or better.
"We have an exciting opportunity over the next couple weeks to add to our win column," said head coach Kristin Janes. "The regular season comes to a close in 3 short weeks and we are very excited for the chance to make a run in the post season."
