The Lady Hounds had a huge offensive day on Tuesday, as they split with Kansas City Kansas, winning game two 11-5. FSCC produced 31 hits and scored 21 runs in the two games at Wyandot County Park.
In game one, the Lady Hounds came up short falling 11-10 in an offensive battle. Kaylee Bart, Alex Perez and Chelsea Snyder each nabbed their first home run of the year, each multiple run blasts. Bart led the Lady Hound offense over all going 3-3 with 3 RBI's, a run and a walk.
Kaylee Bart racked up three RBIs on three hits for Lady Greyhounds. She homered in the second inning and singled in the third and seventh innings. Aubrey Smith pitched the bulk of the innings for FSCC. She allowed six runs in six innings, walked none and struck out six.
The Lady Greyhounds jumped out to an early lead on KCKCC and captured the victory in game two. Eight runs in the first three innings allowed FSCC to put the game away early.
A two-run double by Taylor Brecheisen sparked the first inning offense for Lady Greyhounds. Brecheisen drove in Kenzie Hersh and Kristen Tyler, while Kaylee Bart's ground out plated Brecheisen. Five more runs were added in the top of the third. Sutton started off the inning when she singled, plating Brecheisen who singled earlier in the inning. Chelsea Snyder singled followed by a Cheyenne Brewer triple, plating Sutton and Snyder. Alex Perez followed Brewer with a triple of her own. Kenzie Hersh rounded out the scoring by driving in Perez with an RBI double.
FSCC built upon its lead with two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth. KC Beardsley got the fourth innings first RBI with a single, scoring Kylie Wilson, pinch running for Taylor Brecheisen. Snyder followed her up with the third triple of the game, bringing home Cheyenne Pierce, running for Beardsley. Kaylee Bart doubled in the sixth inning scoring Taylor Brecheisen.
Brecheisen led the offense for the Lady Hounds. She racked up two RBIs on four hits. Amber Sutton recorded the win for Lady Greyhounds. Sutton struck out four in her seven innings of work.
The Lady Hounds go back to work on Friday and Saturday in a KJCCC twin bill. FSCC hosts Independence and Cowley County respectively, playing at 2:00 & 4:00 Friday and 1:00 & 3:00 Saturday.
