Lady Hounds Split Day Two in OKC

Day two in OKC produced a split for the Lady Hounds, dropping game one 9-2 and capturing the game two win, 6-3, vs. Rose State.

In game two, FSCC never trailed after scoring one run in the first on an RBI single by Taylor Brecheisen. In the second, the Lady Greyhounds scored on an RBI single by Jenna Nevius, plating Aubrey Smith. After posting two runs in the second, Kylie Wilson racked up two RBIs on one hit for Lady Greyhounds, tripling in the third inning.

Aubrey Smith recorded the win for Lady Greyhounds. She allowed two runs over seven innings, striking out one.

Following Sunday's game two, FSCC resumed game two from Saturday night that was suspended due to light. Eight hits weren't enough for Lady Greyhounds as they lost a shootout, 13-10 in seven innings.

Top hitters for the Lady Hounds in the ten run game included Alex Perez, Kristen Tyler and Taylor Brecheisen. Perez got a hit in each of her two at bats, singling in the fifth and sixth innings. Kristen Tyler went 2-4 in the contest, with two doubles and driving in four and Brecheisen blasted a 3 run home run.

Overall, FSCC had an impressive weekend offensively. The team hit .368 with a .427 on base percentage over the four games. 8 Lady Hounds hit over .350 while 9 earned an on base percentage of over .350. Kaylee Bart and Alex Perez lead the offensive charge. Bart was 7-8 for the weekend, while Perez was 7-13 with a double, six RBI's, six runs, two walks and a stolen base. The Lady Hounds tied last year's season home run total of five, in just two games. Allison Davis, Kaylan Morgan and Kristen Tyler each blasted one over, while Taylor Brecheisen sent two out.

The Lady Hounds take on three more non-conference double headers this week. Wednesday the Lady Hounds travel to Crowder College, at 2:00 & 4:00pm, Friday they come back to FSCC for their second home contest of the year vs. Cottey College, at 1:00 & 3:00pm, and round out the week Saturday at MCC-Maplewoods, at 1:00 & 3:00.
