Hounds Win Big Over Labette CC

Hounds Bounce Back

The Greyhounds Men's basketball team traveled to Neosho County Community College on February 15th.

With sophomore Clance Crosby being named player of the week the Hounds felt pretty confident facing the Neosho County Panthers. This game was truly nail biting as both teams went shot-for-shot. At the end of the first half the score was 37-38; we were down by one.

Fort Scott came out with a vengeance and Sean Franklin scored nine points in the second half, while his teammates followed close behind. At the end of the second half the score was tied up 70-70; the Hounds and Panthers were going into overtime.

Overtime ended with the Greyhounds scoring seven points and the Panthers scoring eight.

The team could not let this affect them, they had to turn around and face Labette County Community College on the 18th.

"We let Neosho outwork us and the result wasn't how we planned. With Labette we knew we had to get it back, so we played with a chip on our shoulder," Clance Crosby said.

The Hounds felt very confident going into the Labette game. It was very clear that they came out with a mission. Andre Norris made a three pointer less than a minute into the game.

"We felt very comfortable and confident; we knew if we stayed as a team and played our game we couldn't lose," freshman Baker Beal said.

Fort Scott beat Labette in almost every aspect of the game. The Greyhounds went 89.5% from behind the free throw line and had a total of 46 rebounds compared to Labette's 19.

The Greyhounds Men's basketball team shut down the Labette County Cardinals and won 87-63. FSCC was led by Sean Franklin with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Baker Beal was a fan favorite and scored 14 points and had nine rebounds.

The Hounds definitely put on a show with multiple dunks and stellar defense. FSCC played as a team and were very fundamentally sound.

Next, the Greyhounds will face Allen County Community College on Wednesday the 22nd in Iola, Kansas.
