FSCC to host 31st Annual Spring College Rodeo

It's that time of year again for FSCC to host the Annual Spring College Rodeo. The rodeo will feature bareback riding, calf roping, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, goat tying, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding. The action-packed event will take place inside Arnold Arena on the FSCC campus March 9-11 and will feature athletes from 25 two-year and four-year colleges and universities in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Northwestern Missouri. Both the men's and women's teams compete in ten rodeos hosted by the region each year, only one of which is at home.

The FSCC Rodeo Team is packed with talent this year. Currently the men's team is ranked first in the Central Plains Region and the women's team is ranked ninth. Individuals have performed well and are ranked high in the Central Plains Region. During this year's rodeo be sure to watch for Jade Blackwell, currently ranked second in saddle bronc riding; Yance Day, first, Blaine Kaufman, second, Tyler Pasour, sixth, Travis Cramer, seventh, Allen Yochum, eighth, Matt Croom, twelfth, and Cody Stephens, fourteenth in bareback riding; Dustin Olmstead, fourth, David King, sixth, Colton May, tenth, Chelse Day, eleventh, and Tyler Dees ranked fifteenth in bull riding; Jacoby Hotsenpiller ranked eleventh in goat tying and fifteenth in breakaway roping.

Be sure to catch all of the talented members of the FSCC Rodeo Team as they compete in this exciting event. The Spring Rodeo will span three days, Fri., March 9 at 7:30 p.m.; Sat., March 10 at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m.; and Sun., March 11 at 1:00 p.m. Admission prices are as follows: adults $8, FSCC students with ID $5, children (ages 6-12) $3 and children (age 5 and under) free.
