Freshman point guard George Brocato will continue his academic and athletic career at Kansas Newman in Wichita, Ks. Brocato was a starter this season for the Greyhound basketball program. He averaged 4 points and 5 assists per game helping the team achieve a 20-12 record, which is the best record in the last 28 years and only sixth time a 20 win season has ever happened.
George Brocato was ranked 4th in assists in the conference and in the region. He was also ranked 4th in his assist to turnover ratio in the region. Off the court Geroge achieved a 3.81 GPA the first semester placing him on the Dean's Honor Roll and will more than likely achieve the same honor this semester.
"I am extremely proud of George and his accomplishments this year on and off the court. The most difficult position in our program to play is the point guard position mainly because I coach the point guard and you have to deal with my craziness. George did a great job of handling that position and running our offense. Off the court I am not surprised at all at the accomplishments that George achieved this year, and I am honored to have coached George. I look forward to watching him continue his academic and athletic career at Kansas Newman University," stated Head Basketball Coach Michael Cook.
