Sophomore captain and leading scorer Tyler Zinn has decied to sign with the Central methodist Eagles. Zinn was a starter the last two seasons and team captain this season for the Greyhound basketball program. He played an inegral part in them achieving a 20-12 record, which is the best record in the last 28 years and only sixth time a 20 win season has ever happened in program history.
In his sophomore year at FSCC, Zinn was named First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region. Tyler was ranked 2nd in the conference and the region, and 30th in the nation in scoring. His field goal percentage had him ranked at 7th in the conference and 9th in the region. His 3 point percentage was 2nd in conference and 4th in the region. His free throw percentage was 4th in conference. Tyler was also ranked 11th in rebounds with 220 and 5th in assists with 190. He also finished 3rd among the all-time scoring leaders, having scored 1,067 points in his two year career.
"It is an honor to have been able to not only coach Tyler but to also watch him grow on and off the court the past two years. Tyler is the ultimate competitor and is exaclty what our program is about and represents. Tyler will go and do great things at Central Methodist and will help them continue a great tradition that has been established there. I am truly honored to have coached Tyler for two seasons and look forward to watching him achieve his dreams and goals at Central Methodist," stated Head Basketball Coach Michael Cook.
Tyler's parents are Chris Zinn, and Suzie and Mitch Carlson.
