The Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team used a steady performance defensively to win at Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday afternoon, 58-41.
The Greyhound defense held KCK to just 22 points in the first half and only 19 points in the second half en route to the victory. Helping that stat was the Greyhounds tallying 14 steals and three blocked shots.
Fort Scott shot just 32% from the field in the game but hit 12 three pointers at a 44% clip. KCK was held to just 34% from the floor and they hit just four of 14 three point attempts.
The Greyhounds posted three players in double figures led by Jayden Davis off the bench with 16 points and three rebounds. Tyler Zinn tallied 14 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals. Dontrell Sanders added 12 points and seven rebounds.
KCK only tallied six players in the scorebook and they were led by 12 points from Juwan Davenport.
Greyhounds improve to 19-9 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
They'll wrap up the regular season with home games against Johnson County and Highland on Wednesday and Saturday this week respectively.
