The Fort Scott Community College football team had its two game win streak snapped at Dodge City on Saturday night with a 36-29 loss against the Conquistadors.
The Greyhounds (2-4, 1-3) weren't able to establish much on offense in the first half but still was able to hang around early thanks to four turnovers by Dodge City in the first half.
Dodge City led 26-14 at the half and there were multiple times in the game during the second half where the Greyhounds would respond and get back within one score but D.C. seemed to have an answer each time to keep FSCC at arm's length.
Garrett Sharpe led the Greyhound offense completing 18 of 44 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns. Ed Aldred caught seven passes for 95 yards and two scores while Kyle Harrison had six catches for 66 yards.
The Greyhound offense piled 359 yards of total offense but the defense surrendered over 460 yards of offense to the Conquistadors. D.C. QB Caden Walters threw for 239 yards and five touchdowns.
Dodge City dominated time of possession, holding the ball for almost 17 minutes longer than Fort Scott and the Greyhounds were just six of 19 on third down conversions.
Fort Scott returns home this Saturday to take on Ellsworth at Frary Field.
