Barkley enters his second season as the hitting and outfield coach for the Greyhounds.

In his first season he helped lead the Greyhounds to their second best season in program history with a finish of 41-15. The 2017-18 Greyhounds offense set a program record for Batting Average (.362), On-Base Percentage (.442), and Homeruns (86). Barkley helped lead 8 Greyhounds to All-KJCCC selections, KJCCC Co-Conference player of the year, and a Third Team All-American.

Barkley transferred to Fort Scott from the University of Central Missouri. He was an outfielder and pitcher for the Greyhounds in 2012-2014. He was a First Team All-Conference and All-Region outfielder his sophomore year.

Barkley transferred to Washburn University where he was a MIAA All-Conference Utility player his junior year and a MIAA All-Conference pitcher his senior season.  Barkley graduated from Washburn University with a degree in Kinesiology.
