Tom Havron enters his third year as the Fort Scott Community College Athletic Director.  Havron brings a unique set of skills to the athletic program due to his success in a variety of areas in multiple schools within the Jayhawk Conference.  During his time as AD, the athletic programs have seen the overall winning percentage increase by over 10%, and the cumulative GPA of all athletic teams raise to 3.10 in the fall of 2017.  "My job as athletic director is to try to give the coaches and student-athletes the tools that they need to compete at a high level within the best conference in the country.  I have little to do with the success that each of my teams have had, as I am privelged to have the best coaches, assistants, and student - athletes in the country.  It has been, and will continue to be, a privilege to serve FSCC's students, coaches, and community."

Havron also serves as the Dean of Students for the college, which oversees admissions, federal compliance, Title IX, residence life, student activities, and student conduct.  Prior to FSCC, Havron served as the mcPherson Center Coordinator for Hutchinson Community College and the Head Track and Field Coach at Neosho County Community College from 2006 - 2012.  During his tenure as a coach, Havron coached 51 All-American athletes and four athletes who went on to compete professionally.  Competitively, Havron was an All-American sprinter for the University of Mary in North Dakota in 2006.  He earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from the University of Mary in 2006, a masters degree in educational leadership from Pittsburg State University in 2012, and is currently in pursuit of his doctorate degree in higher administration from Ferris State University.  Havron resides in Fort Scott with his wife, Kristen, and their four children, Ashlynn, emersyn, Harper and Carter.
