The 8th ranked FSCC volleyball competed in Coffeyville over the weekend and finished the slate with a 2-2 record. The Greyhounds (10-4) split a pair on Friday with a sweep over Pratt before falling in five sets to MCC-Longview.
"We had a rough week", said head coach Lindsay Hill. "We knew it would be tough, having to play Coffeyville twice, but mentally we struggled".
FSCC put together a complete match on both sides in the sweep over Pratt, winning 25-20, 25-17 and 25-14. Hanna White and Karlee Stanley finished the match with 20 and 17 assists respectively and Katie Gorman led the way with 28 digs. The Greyhounds had a .264 kill percentage. The Greyhounds were back and forth against MCC-Longview but falling 16-25, 25-20, 11-25, 25-22 and 13-15. Courtney Koetting finished with 41 assists and 31 digs while Ellie Tucker led the way with 42 digs.
The competition on Saturday ramped up with a four set loss to Coffeyville and then closing out the tourney with a sweep over Independence. The Greyhounds lost 16-26, 25-16, 15-25 and 18-25 to host Coffeyville. Gorman led FSCC with 22 of the team's 41 digs while White and Stanley led the way with 22 and 17 assists respectively. The Greyhounds would close out the weekend with a 25-16, 25-16 and 25-17 sweep over Independence.
"We have to fix us and our errors, once we do that I think we will be closer to where we want to be". "Our schedule doesn't get any easier, so we have to learn our lessons fast and move on."
FSCC will host Labette on Wednesday night at Arnold Arena.
