The Hound Volleyball Team took down rivals Neosho County on Wednesday night, defeating the Panthers 3-1. The Hounds won the contest 25-19, 25-14, 19-25, 25-10. The win moves Fort Scott up to sixth in the Region VI standings.
"Our goal all season is to be in the play-offs. Everyone starts over at 0-0, which allows us another chance to get to nationals," stated Head Coach Lindsay Hill.
The top eight teams in the 12-team district advance to District Tournaments.
The Hounds and Panthers have met twice before this meeting, each team taking a contest. The Hounds were led by sophomore Ashley Bell with 16 kills, while sophomore setter Taylyn Schwartz recorded 49 assists. Sophomore Kate Smith added 20 digs.
The Hounds are back in action Friday in Arkansas City, KS to take on the #1 ranked and 2011 National Champions, Cowley College.
