Fort Scott Recreation Center's Youth Flag Football League started their 2012 season on Saturday, September 15 but the location this year is different than in years' past. This season the league will play all of their games on the synthetic turf field on the campus of FSCC.
Last season FSCC's Athletic Director, J.D. Ettore, and FSRC's Director, Tom Robertson, worked together to have the final Saturday's slate of games on the turf field and it was a huge success. "The Greyhounds had a bye that weekend last year so I was able to watch all of the games that day and it was just fantastic," said Ettore. "After that I told Tom that for 2012 we need to have all of the games on the turf field not only because of how much fun the kids were having but also for safety reasons."
The FSRC coaches agreed with the plan and voted unanimously to play all games at the turf field. You can see the FSRC Youth Flag Football league in action each Saturday through October 20th.
