Hounds defeat Labette in Three Sets

It was an exciting match-up as the Lady Hounds took on former assistant coach, now Head Volleyball Coach Marisa Jordan at Labette County.  Coach Jordan served one year as the assistant at FSCC last year.

The Hounds started off strong taking the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-18.  The third set was a thriller with the lead changing several times.  The Lady Hounds pulled off the win, taking the third set 28-26.

The Hounds were led by freshman Haylee Toothman with 13 kills and 16 digs, followed by sophomores Ashley Bell with 9 kills and Ali Cure with 8 kills.  Sophomore setter Taylyn Schwartz tallied 39 assists in the match.

"This is a good win.  We are starting off on good note.  When we get our rhythm down, we will look more fluid.  The girls are working hard, but we still have work to be done," stated Coach Hill.

On seeing her former assistant coach on the other side of the net, Coach Hill commented, "It is always exciting to see one of my former players and assistant coaches doing what they love.  Coach Jordan has done great things with that program and I am excited to see her grow as a coach."
