Hounds Win First Match

Hounds Win First Match

The Lady Greyhounds start off strong with a win in their first home match versus Clarendon College.  It was an exciting match, as it went to five sets.  In the first two sets, the Hounds clearly controlled the pace of the match, winning 25-16 and 25-14.

"We played very well in the first two sets," stated Head Coach Lindsay Hill.  "We played like I knew we could, with tempo and ball control."

In the third and fourth set, the Hounds found themselves trailing early on.  "We could not find a rhythm, it was frustrating," commented Coach Hill.

However in sets five, the Lady Hounds pulled together for a win 15-11.

"I am glad we got the win, but we made it hard on ourselves.  It is a lesson I hope our athletes learned.  We can't let up, we can't allow a team to think they have a chance.  We have to start and finish strong,"  commented Coach Hill.

The Hounds are back in action on Friday at 1pm against Labette County and at 7pm versus Cedar Valley.
