The Fort Scott Community College women's basketball team was short handed on Wednesday night at #14 Labette and a big second quarter for the Cardinals created separation as they knocked off FSCC 76-59.
The Lady Hounds (12-12, 0-5) were down some players due to sickness and was limited in bodies, as they've been most of the season due to injuries.
Labette outscored FSCC 25-12 in the second quarter which was the biggest difference in the ball game. The Greyhounds hung tough in the other three quarters only being outscored 51-47.
FSCC shot 34% from the floor and hit five three pointers along with 11 of 16 from the free throw line.
Shalina Harper led Fort Scott with 14 points as she was the only player for the Greyhounds in double figures.
Labette was led in scoring by Upe Atosu with 22 points as the 14th ranked Cardinals shot nearly 42% from the field and hit eight three pointers.
Fort Scott travels to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday afternoon, tip off scheduled for 2:00 and the men will follow at 4:00.
