The Fort Scott Community College women's basketball team snapped a four game losing streak on Saturday afternoon with a 73-46 victory over Hesston.
FSCC controlled the pace from the start on both ends of the floor outscoring the Lady Larks 45-23 in the first half and it was more than enough to secure the victory.
It was a balanced effort offensively for the Hounds as they posted four players in double figures led by Ally McKenzie with 18 points along with 10 rebounds. Kamaya Miller added 15 points while Jade Winter and Shalina Harper had 12 and 11 points respectively.
The Greyhounds shot nearly 47% from the floor and hit five three's as well as 82% of its free throw attempts.
FSCC dominated the glass as they out-rebounded Hesston 49-28 while adding 12 of those on the offensive end.
Hesston was led by their leading scorer Whitney Green with 12 points. She was the only player in double figures for the Larks.
The Lady Hounds improve to 12-11 overall and they will play at Labette on Wednesday night with the scheduled tip time set for 5:30.
