Brown Mackie from Salina came in to Arnold Arena on February 21st for a Region VI game against the Greyhounds. The Hounds were able to use 19 second chance points in the first half to help get off to a quick start and went into the half leading, 41-30. In the second half, the Greyhounds used offensive rebounding to get points in the paint and they were able to pull away from Brown Mackie with their second Region VI win in a row, 76-67.
The Greyhounds finished the game with five players in double figures scoring, led by Jessica McAdams with 15 points. Freshman Kayleigh Haggard finished the game with 12 points and led the Hounds in rebounding with 10.
"We got off to our second great start in a row offensively, but I'm more proud of our effort on the defensive end tonight. They did a great job guarding a team with a lot of very good shooters. We need to carry over this effort as we head to Hesston, we have been playing our best on both ends of the court right now and that's what we need to be doing at this time of the season," commented Coach Reihmann.
