The Hounds hosted Independence in Arnold Arena on Wednesday January 30th. In the first half the Hounds were able to stay with Independence and played very good defense, going into halftime only down seven. To start the second half, Independence went on a 13-0 run that bumped their lead up to 19 points. After the media time-out, the Hounds came out and were able to claw their way back into the game cutting the lead back to only seven points with 3 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, Independence used a 9-1 run to push it back up to 15 points and the Hounds weren't able to get much closer.
"I thought we played very well tonight, we just had a five minute lapse in the second half that caused Independence to get a huge lead on us. I was very proud of the team and how they made their way back into the game and never quit playing hard," said Coach Reihmann.
The Hounds play next at home against Coffeyville on Saturday, February 2nd at 2:00pm.
