Two More Sign with FSCC Softball

Coach Kristin Schalk and the Lady Hounds Softball Team announced the addition of two more talents to its 2013-2014 roster.  Akoda Black and Alex Yeoman will be joining the group of fifteen previously signed future Hounds for next year's squad.

Akoda Black is a 5'7 2nd and 3rd baseman from Ottawa, KS.  Black attended Ottawa High School where she played four years of varsity softball for Corey Katzer and Joe Serna.  While in high school, Black also participated in varsity basketball and won the Unsung Hero Award.  She plays travel softball for Jonnie Hill and the Explosion II.  "I chose FSCC because of the size, location, programs offered and softball program," commented Black.  Akoda is the daughter of Jeff and Aimee Black and will be majoring in Nursing.

Alex Yeoman is a 5'4 3rd baseman and Outfielder from McCune, KS.  Yeoman is a graduate of Southeast High School where she was coached by Mike Bowman.  While at Southeast, she collected the 2013 CNC 2nd team award and the SHS Golden Glove Award.  Yeoman plays travel softball for Mike Bowman and the Adrealine.  When asked why she chose Fort Scott, Yeoman commented, "I was already missing softball and this was the perfect fit." Alex is the daughter of Doug and Leslie Yeoman and will be majoring in Accounting.

"I am very excited to have Alex and Akoda as Lady Hounds next year.  They had great high school careers and ready to see what they can do at FSCC," said Coach Schalk.
