Softball Season Comes to End

The Fort Scott Community College softball team brought their season to a close on April 29th in the First Round of Regional play in Parsons, KS.  The Lady Hounds dropped the best two out of three match-up to Labette Community College.

"We never gave up," said Head Coach Kristin Schalk. "With the character this team has shown throughout the season, I knew they would fight until the very last pitch, and that's what they did."

With the season coming to an end, the Lady Hounds found many accomplishments to be proud of. These accomplishments included four of eleven Lady Hounds producing a .380 or better On Base Percentage, seven Lady Hounds entering the FSCC record books nineteen times in fourteen different categories, doubling team overall wins and team conference wins from the previous year, and Lizzie Aller ranking 11th in the nation in stolen bases with 37.

"I'm very proud of the heart and passion that the ladies put into this season," commented Head Coach Kristin Schalk. "These ladies faced adversity head on this year and in so many ways came out on top. Thank you to our sophomore's Jessie, Kelli, Hailey, Kayla and Areal and I wish them all luck in their future endeavors."
