Rienbolt Named Outstanding Sophomore

Greyhound sophomore guard Pierce Rienbolt was named outstanding sophomore for FSCC for the 2012-2013 school year.

Each year the College honors one student as "Outstanding Sophomore of the Year."  Sixty-three students met the initial eligibility criteria for nomination (degree-seeking, GPA of 3.5 or higher, eligible to walk at graduation).  Of these, six chose to submit applications for the award.  Those 6 students are the finalists for the award.  All faculty and staff members of the college were invited to help in the selection of the winning candidate.

Pierce was a member of the Greyhounds Men's basketball team for two years and also a member of the FSCC Marching Band.  Pierce was named to the KJCCC All-Academic team for the 2011-2012 season and was also Homecoming King for the fall of 2012.

"I am extremely happy for Pierce on being named Outstanding Sophomore.  But I am more proud that I was able to have the chance to not only coach, but to get to know Pierce for the past two years.  Pierce has always been a team player and would do anything for his teammates, friends and family.  Pierce is the epitome of what our program is trying to accomplish with all of our students athletes," said Fort Scott Head Coach, Michael Cook.
