The Ticket Releases Broadcast Schedule for FSCC Hoops

PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Ticket, 99.1 FM ESPN Radio (KSEK-FM) of Pittsburg will broadcast 12 Fort Scott Community College regular-season basketball doubleheaders during the 2012-13 season.

This is the third season The Ticket has carried live coverage of Greyhounds men's and women's basketball. Once again, Matt Newbery will call all of the action. Pregame coverage starts 15 minutes before the scheduled tip-off of the double-header's first game.

The Ticket will broadcast eight home and four away double-headers, all but one involving opponents in the Eastern Division of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, starting on Nov. 20.

This will be the first season FSCC basketball teams will compete as Division II members of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Greyhounds join fellow Jayhawk East competitors Highland, Johnson County and Kansas City Kansas (also moving to D-II in '12-13) along with independents Hesston and Brown-Mackie as Division II Region VI members. The broadcast schedule features at least one meeting with each D-II region member except Hesston.

Besides at 99.1 FM in southeast Kansas, games can be heard through the station's web site at 991espn.com by clicking on the Listen Live link, or through the Tune In app on your smartphone (search KSEK-FM).

The Greyhound women will be led by first-year head coach Katie Reihmann. She moves to the top job after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Fort Scott. The squad returns three letterwinners, including two starters from last season.

Michael Cook enters his fifth season as the head coach of the FSCC men's basketball squad, which is seeking its first winning season since 2006-07, when the Greyhounds finished 19-12. Two letterwinners are back from the 2011-12 campaign, one of which was a starter.
