Title: Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, D-Line

Coach Richard Johnson enters his sixth season coaching at FSCC. Johnson has had recent success in developing big-time defensive linemen for the Greyhounds, sending multiple student athletes to the Division I level.

Johnson played on the defensive line at University of Kansas from 2007-2011, started 33 games, and recorded 88 tackles in his playing career. Coach Johnson was named to the 2008 Phil Steele Freshman All-American team. He was a member of the 2008 Orange Bowl Championship team. Johnson earned the George Mrkonic Scout Team Player of the year as a defensive lineman and also was a key member of the 2008 Insight Bowl Championship team.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in American studies and a minor in communications from the University of Kansas. Johnson hails from Jefferson City, Mo.
