The Fort Scott Community College Football team bounced back after a loss at Dodge City with a hard fought 16-14 victory against Ellsworth on Saturday night at Frary Field.
The Greyhounds (3-4, 1-3) have won three of their last four games since starting the season 0-3.
Garrett Sharpe's 10-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to Braxton Curry and three Brody Southwell field goals provided the scoring output for FSCC as the defense held true and dominated the second half to shut out Ellsworth since the middle of the second quarter.
Sharpe and Dalton Sneed split time at quarterback and both had their moments. Sneed finished the night completing 11 of 18 passes for 166 yards and two interceptions. Sharpe completed just 3 of 10 passes for 57 yards and the score to Curry. Sharpe also led the Greyhounds in rushing with 57 yards while James Randle chipped in with 43 yards on nine carries.
Ed Aldred was efficient on the outside with three receptions for 94 yards and Kyle Harrison caught four passes for 69 yards.
Paris Chambers led Ellsworth's offense with 283 passing yards and 96 rushing yards and one touchdown.
