It took a year and a half for LB Dominic Cizauskas to put a stamp in the record books at Fort Scott Community College. Cizauskas led a solid defensive effort becoming FSCC's all time tackles leader as the Greyhounds won their second straight game 26-17 in overtime on Saturday at Frary Field.
The Greyhounds (2-3, 1-2) controlled the first half on both sides of the ball leading 14-3 at the break. The Tritons (0-7) would respond with 14 unanswered in the third quarter to take a 17-14 lead into the fourth quarter. Greyhound's kicker Brody Southwell would tie the game with a 41 yard field goal and that would send the game into overtime.
FSCC would tack on three with a 26 yard field goal from Southwell before Jordan Griffin would seal the game with a 100 yard interception return for a touchdown. The play tied the longest scoring play in FSCC history which was last set in 2011 with a 100 yard pick six at Dodge City. It was the first overtime game for the Greyhounds since 2012.
Cizauskas led the defense with 19 total tackles as the Greyhounds held Iowa Central under 200 yards of offense and forcing two turnovers.
FSCC will make the long trip to Dodge City this Saturday, kick-off set for 6:00 PM.
