The 2016-17 academic year will mark the first year of coaching at Fort Scott Community College for Alex Copeland. Prior to coming to Fort Scott, Copeland coached one year at NCAA D1 school, Abilene Christian University where he worked with catchers and assisted with hitting while coaching first base.
Copeland began his collegiate career at Fort Scott Community College and garnered All-Conference Honors both years as a catcher (2012-2014) also earning the Region VI Gold Glove award for catchers. He continued his career and played two more years at Abilene Christian. Following a stellar career as a catcher and putting his education background to use, Coach Copeland will work primarily with the catchers and oversee the strength and conditioning program at Fort Scott while he assists with hitters and all other facets of the program.
Copeland received his Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from Abilene Christian in May, 2017 and will begin his Master of Science in Physical Education from Pittsburg State University in August of 2017.
